Crazy squirrel attacks residents of Vermont
The "Beast of Benington" attacked one resident, Kevin McDonald, while he was innocently shoveling snow in his front yard. According to the Bennington Banner, the squirrel jumped McDonald from behind, scratching at his back until being thrown off. The persistent squirrel came back for two rounds before McDonald retreated to his home and the squirrel disappeared into a nearby tree.
The next day, he saw his neighbor battling the same rodent with a metal pole and a blanket.
If your travels take you to Bennington, beware this hostile creature.

Rather than jumping in front of cars in an attempt to get them to swerve off the road....he's taking a more proactive stance...

The squirrel was seen wearing a burkha and rummaging through a copy of the koran. Beware this hostile creature.

CATCH HIM....and send him to Afganistan. He/She could be helping with the war on terror. just get our troops out of harms way first.

Worthless little creatures at best and , I shoot them every chance I get with my Pellet Gun . They destroy my house to get to the bird feeder and eat in one hour what it takes the birds a couple days to use up . They are tuff to skin but they are tastier than any Rabbit or Chicken for sure ..

A liberal squirrel? He's probably a democrodent. Yes, he should be shot, or perhaps poisoned. Use rat poison, but put it up in the tree, so that other animals won't get it. A few other squirrels might, but that is just something we have to accept. If PETA doesn't like it, tell them to f**k off. They killed squirrels back during Biblical times. The Dead Sea Squirrels.

There has never been a reported case of rabies from a squirrel in the United States. It is believed by some experts that squirrels cannot contract the disease. Look it up.
However, if I was bitten by any animal, I'd err on the side of caution and get the shots.
It's possible that someone has been feeding the squirrel and he cannot forage for food, or the squirrel has a nest nearby.

Some of your comments are humorous, but this really can be scary. Squirrels lately can be a little crazy. I had a few encounters with a crazy squirrel...they can be threatening!
hoosier Mar 18th 2011 11:12AM
You have had "MORE THAN ONE" encounter with squirrels??????
B Mar 18th 2011 4:52PM
3 encounters with the same squirrel...long story. But it is pretty funny!
cal10pilot Mar 18th 2011 10:32AM
there's a number you can use for this type of activity.....22 short, or pellet can also do the job
Suz Mar 18th 2011 10:38AM
My understanding is squirrels don't carry rabies...somebody just
got ripped off on medical bills...

There is a very effective product that many people overlook. It's called a "CB cap"....It's a very low powered 22 caliber round that looks like a regular 22 short. I use them in a Winchester Mod. 61 pump action rifle to rid my pecan trees of the little pests. It sounds almost exactly like an air rifle and the report would be hard to detect outside your yard. No, I don't care what PETA thinks. I dress the ones I shoot and give them to an old gentleman down the street. He makes a stew with their carcasses.

Im with you screw PETA i kill dozens maybe 50 and probably that many rabbits every spring and summer, they are pests just tree rats, they raid my garden i kill them, period,, i shoot them with the cb caps in a heavy barrel mossberg , cant even hear it, i also trap them shoot them in the hindquarters to slow them down and let my schnauzers finish them off great sport, and no i've never turned into a serial killer of people so save that crap,, lol only good squirrel or rabbit is a dead one

Quite possibly this squirrel may have a nest in the vicinity and doesn't want anyone close to it....defending his home from insurgents...
