IMO, Mazatlan is the least interesting of the ports down that way anyhow. Cabo is neater by far. I'd consider it lucky to get the port change. I honestly can't think of anything that interesting in Mazatlan -- a nice day to just stay on board and have the ship to yourself. Mexico is a wonderful country with great people. I'm sorry to see it getting such a bad rap. Just avoid border towns, I guess, is the answer for now.
