Man sues tour operator for failing to let him shoot an elephant

A Polish hunter has taken a trip to court to file charges against his German tour operator. According to the hunter, the tour agency failed to help him fulfill his dream of shooting an elephant.
Feel free to read that last part again - he is suing the company, because he was not able to kill an elephant.
The company in question, German based Jaworski Jagdreisen specializes in hunting trips, allowing tourists to shoot wild boar, red stag, sheep, pheasant and more. Their trips are organized all around the world, but they claim Latvia is currently a "hot destination".
In his complaint, the customer identified as Waldemar I. claims there were absolutely no elephants anywhere near his hunting location in Zimbabwe. The tour operator fired back saying:
"From what I know, (the hunter) should have seen elephant excrement there"Mr. I. is claiming damages worth $130,000 and will know whether he's entitled to the money on February 15. To top it all off, he's claiming these damages after the tour operator sent him on a second trip where he actually did manage to kill a male elephant. Some people are just never happy with anything...

I can almost tolerate hunting for sport if the hunter consumes his kill. In fact, I'm not adverse to eating game that my friends give me as long as I don't have to kill it. However, killing a beautiful creature like an elephant just for bragging rights seems to me to be barbaric. Perhaps I'm being a bit hypocritical, but I can't help it. This guy is an idiot.

I disagree, why ANYONE would want to kill an elephant is beyond me. They are so intelligent and have so many human qualities. All I can say is this ass must have too much time and money. As for trophies, they make me sick. Stephanie Johnson

All the meat is given to the locals there to eat--nothing is wasted

These fu*king idiots! Someone should let me shoot him! These people who go on these "hunting trips" are fat old rich guys who doesn't know the first thing about hunting. And the sponsers of such trips should be put in jail. I do not eat meat, but I feel that if you respect the animal and only kill to eat than it's ok(sort of, i just love animals) but the minute that you start counting antlers and think of it as a "sport" and find enjoyment in the kill, then something is wrong. It was never intended to be a SPORT! Someone should shoot this ahole and stuff his butt!

I wish they would release this jackasses name so that we could all flood him with our opinions. He killed a male elephant! Is that not enough???? Does he have a thing for killing females???? What a jerk. I hope there is a hell for these gluttons.

first of all, you're an ass doc. that has nothing to do with any of this. makes commenting almost not worth it.
second...need i say more? did you eat him? what was your reason to want to kill him? did you ever read "when elephants weep?" with all my skeletons in my closet i am not one to judge. i am not a vegetarian, however, i still feel the angst i may be causing someone, somewhere. may god have pity on your soul, or should i say, may god smile upon you with your outstandingly awesome wall hanging...whatever. you only have to live with you. we're all blessed with that one.

Someone should do something about that German Company that is making money off of killing animals. Shame on them. That man should be shot himself. This type of thing really bothers me. And no, I do not eat meat.
John S Feb 3rd 2011 7:30AM
Maybe the world would be better off, if someone shot him.
Laurie Feb 3rd 2011 7:32AM
I had no idea it was even legal to kill elephants for "sport."
Bird Feb 3rd 2011 7:46AM
Did you know that elephants weep and mourn over the dead of their herd for days? They are highly intelligent and care for one another deeply. I'm no vegetarian or PETA person, but shooting an elephant? I have never been and never will go to a circus. After my last trip to the National Zoo and seeing the "enclosure" they used to hold an elephant in the winter, I will never set foot in another zoo. That animal couldn't even turned around in it's own cage. I thought shooting elephants was illegal. Rememeber the days of seeing the rotting elephant carcases with just the ivory tusks ripped out? I'd love for someone to hunt this guy down and rip his teeth out. What the hell is wrong with people? I hope this hunting tour operator goes out of business too. Idiots.

"Did you know that elephants weep and mourn over the dead of their herd for days? ".Boo Hoooooo I suppose Cows , pigs ,chickens and other animals dont care ?
Bird Feb 3rd 2011 9:29AM
They very well may care. I don't know. I've never personally seen any one of those you mentioned mourn nor do they have a "family" unit as elephants do. But what I do know is that those creatures are eaten. They aren't hunted for fun, for their ivory, or for some male machismo so they can get their rocks filled with testosterone Jeffy. There's the difference....wise up man.
Anne Feb 3rd 2011 7:54AM
Good God.......in this day and age, with elephants being endangered............Totally disgusting................like one other person said, maybe this fool needs to be culled on his next trip out.
Hunting non endangered animals for food.........no problem. Hunting endangered captive animals...........bullshit. Just means he is probably an insecure pitiful man who needs to whip out his P**** and pee on a tree to show his manhood.
TowTruck Feb 3rd 2011 7:55AM
Uh oh.... better get set for a whole new round of Pollack jokes!
Martin Feb 3rd 2011 11:29AM
Tow Truck I got a joke .What is the biggest difference between an elephant and a pollack?I no the elephant is bigger?? Your wrong the elephant is smarter!!!
David Feb 3rd 2011 7:57AM
The writer wrote wild boar twice lol But I definitely think that the man should be thrown in jail for this one... just for the stupidity.
