While there are some trips we like to book on our own, there are others more complicated or in areas of the world we would not like to feel like we are on our own. I remember once getting into a jam and having to contact our TA from the other side of the world. It turned out well with an upgrade and a place to sleep when everything else seemed book during the holiday season.
Recently, we were stranded for a time when we missed a flight we had booked on our own after a cruise. I wished we had some recourse as around me I heard some others calling TAs and getting some help. Thankfully we are pretty flexible in our travel but it's nice sometimes to have that backup.
