Perhaps it will have some kind of circular affect. By using the ice it brings more awareness to whales and other marine life that may depend on the Arctic seawaters. The money made from the bottles will definitely help any research. Research is always low on funds.
Its likely those who were bidding on it knew where their money was going to go to. Humans after all enjoy rewards and exchange items. Its not likely beer from Arctic ice will become commercialized. The person who took the ice was on the conservation ship. Doubt he was thinking about being malicious.
