In Beyoğlu, especially, don't forget to look up -- rooftop bars and restaurants can be found in some unlikely places (not always obvious from street level), and though you always pay a bit of a premium for the view, they're not all outrageously priced. Other entertaining clusters of bars can be found behind the old Emek Cinema (the "Küçük Beyoğlu" area) and in and around the Balık Pazarı and Nevizade Sokak.
