Don't take sleep aids until you're in the air - Airplane tip
Though it may seem appealing to sleep through those long waits on the tarmac, avoid the temptation to take a sleep aid until you're up in the air.You may miss important announcements, or, worse yet, you may be asked to disembark and wait for a later plane.
If you plan to take a sleep aid, be sure to take a seat where you are less likely to block in other passengers, like a window seat or a middle seat. Your fellow passengers don't want to climb over your dead weight in the middle of the night.

Great tip! I'm a bit of a sleep-aid addict myself, although I've never actually taken one on an air-plane. I will definitely keep this in mind though.

I prefer a window seat and two Tylenol PMs for nighttime transatlantic flights going east. I sleep for about 6 hrs of a trip from Chicago to Frankfurt, then am ready to face a full day of business before crashing into my hotel-room bed at about 8 PM.

you're very right , don't take the sleep aid until your inside the plane, or better yet when it's about to take off. Also it should atleast be an 6-8 hours flight. good post.
