I would agree that Berlin is becoming more and more of a fashion and shopping center. It is quickly becoming one of the finest international cities for shopping.
This is a great list, but it is definitely tailored to the more upscale shopping experience. If you're looking for a more gritty, market type experience, I would recommend Marrakesh, Morocco, with its awesome markets and cool shopping vibe. Also, a lot of cities in Asia (especially China) make shopping fun while also making it a challenge (barter, barter, barter). Definitely a completely different shopping experience than the malls we're used to stateside.
