Virgin Atlantic's pervy new in-flight cocktail
God bless Richard Branson. According to Jaunted, Virgin Atlantic has come up with a summer promo designed to entice passengers into an upgrade. If you sit in Premium Economy or Upper Class on selected flights, you'll get to enjoy a complimentary Virgin Redhead.
Relax, it's just a cocktail: a saucy blend of muddled raspberries, fresh lemon juice, Cassis, and Framboise Liqueur, shaken with Bombay Sapphire Gin, and topped with float of Champagne.
The Upper Class elite can also have themselves a Redhead in VA Clubhouses in select cities. Scandalous!

I find that the biggest complainers of airlines are the ones that try to break every rule...carry on 5 pieces of luggage....whine about a middle seat....eeekkkkk at the 7 dollar price tag of a cocktail.....those of u who say you hate the airlines and drive...a great big THANK YOU! You are the reason why flying sucks....just get on.....shut up and sit down.

I think that one of the reasons that there has been such growth in the bargain airlines is that people are willing to make the compromises necessary to save 50% of the cost of regular name brand airlines. It's like shopping at Marshalls, you just have to take your time to find the right piece at the right price. But I'm with the drivers for short jaunts. Anything under 400 miles, it takes about the same amount of time, and you don't have to limit your luggage, and sit stiff for hours or waste time on layovers. Frankly, even for the few flights I take a year to fly from Florida to Boston to visit my family, I limit myself to a carry-on and put my presecriptions in my oversized purse. Just too tempting these days to lift prescription drugs from luggage checked in baggage check. And it is getting pretty rediculous in securuity...pretty soon you're going to have to strip down before you get on a plane, and I appreciate the need for it, but I wouldn't get re-baptised as an adult with just a white sheet over me and dunked into water in front of strangers, so I'm not likely to do that to take a trip. I say good luck to frequent flyers, they have my blessings.

Was a flight attendant "back in the early 60's". Every one dressed nice, bathed and had manners. Now as I fly with my grand kids and husband to see relatives and on vacations, I am appalled at the way people smell and dress. And yes, the rules of the airlines have changed and the flight attendants are a bit cross as well. Perhaps it's because of the smelly, rude people they must have to put up with over the last many years. And of course, the added precaution they must have always studying those that could mean harm on these flights.
Such heart breaking events that happened on 9/11. I shall always think how those people in those buildings must have felt and have given it thought if my daughter, son or husband was calling me on the cell phone begging me to help do something. Oh such tragady.

The hell with free drinks...all the airlines should not charge for luggage and other "pay as you go" perks!

You people who are actually moved one way or the other about something as mundane about the name of a drink need to get a life. This is just one more ugly by product of living in a country founded by puritan, pilgram, over religious, LUNATICS! Everything offends you people. Unpucker your arsehole already.

If that's their enticemen t into an upgrade, they'll never see me. I travel, all that matters is getting to where I want to go safely and on time.

Well the point that people used to dress in proper atire to fly is a point well taken, even the point about manners, but remember this country also has a much stronger moral fiber then.
we have become a nation of half dressed, instant gratification, self indulgent, whinny , babies that don't have any morals at all.

Before 1978, deregulation, only the wealthy, people on expense accounts, and military personnel (in uniforms flying standby for 50% off), could afford to fly. Now that prices have been lowered MUCH, you are NOT going to get the same service. We could have high speed trains like Europe and Japan, if we are willing to use tax money to support it like they do in other nations. Their trains are really nice, but sometimes can get crowded. Watchout for drug addicts at European train stations who are pick pockets.
