I agree that OZ is the best carrier.. They go out of their way to be courteous and helpful. The rest? SQ? Never had a good experience with them and I live in Asia and have flown with them many times. CX ?..yuk! Was on the aisle and the attendants never stopped bumping me, never once appologizing either. On top of that HKG? its like a 3 ring circus. Try to get help there. The chinese "rudeness"/bluntness and lack of manners really bothers me. TG (my mileage carrier) is really bad too. The crew treat the other SE Asians really bad. I fly them all the time and I have had to defend third world non-english speaking people on various occassions. Muslim meal etc.etc. They are darn right abusive of them. KE is the worst in Asia. I wouldnt send my worst enemy on Korean. They totally suck and JAL is not much better as they hate the Korean's and on a flt. from Japan to Korea ( my weekend escape destination) it makes you feel darnright uncomfortable to witness. But Asian carriers, regardless of the language barrier are a gazillion times better than US and European carriers. Surprised too that nobody mentioned TAM ( new Brasilian carrier) it was superb from Check-in in NY to food and crew. Domestic was a little taxing though.
