I cannot believe that of all of these listings, the Great Lakes only has ONE?? Are you serious? Really does show the lack of awareness. The Great Lakes have more coastline than both oceans. And...I will also tell you that the Upper Peninsula in Michigan has the most breathtaking beaches on Lake Superior. Rocky cliffs and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, as well as the rugged wild of the Porcupine Mountains in western U.P. If you live within driving distance of Michigan (or WI)...forget the airfare to the oceans. I've been to both. The clean fresh water of Superior dominates!! Plenty of lighthouses and waterfalls to visit as well.
