ONCE I was booked on a Spirit flight out of Detroit, it turned out to be a test flight with NO ASSIGNED SEATS - so it was in effect a cattle car.. what a disaster. I LOVED SPIRIT 10 years ago when they still had prices and service!
I quit flying them in 2004 After one of their counter AGENTS in Detroit INFORMED ME THAT I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO CARRY MY FATHERS CASKET FLAG ON THE AIRCRAFT ON MY FLIGHT HOME FROM HIS FUNERAL. I NEEDED A TSA SUPERVISOR TO SET HER STRAIGHT! He wrapped the flag in plastic after patting it down and placed TSA secutity seals on it and told her I was cleared to proceed to security and cleared to board! I certainly hope it is not SPIRIT policy to treat service members or their families in such a deadful way!
