I have vacationed on a number of islands, always avoiding Las Vegas, thinking it would be too noisy, flashy, not my type of vacation. Upon visiting Las Vegas in August 2009, staying at a quiet, small hotel, The Golden Nugget. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my stay with my daughter and grandson. The hotel staff made us feel very welcome and were accomodating. The pool has a fascinating shark tank that appeals to adults as well as kids. If you want a vacation that will be as relaxing as you want it to be and not strain your wallet, Las Vegas offers great room rates. That said, my heart belongs in the islands, aside from the Bahamas....too commercial, and not the friendliest people. My very favorite being the Grenadine Islands.....PARADISE! I also love the BVI's, St Lucia, Contadora, Barbados, St John, Martinique, St. Martin, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda to name most of them.I I look forward to exploring many more.
