The stench is not from the dump. It's emanating from the leadership. What an appropriate response from the Chinese government. When something stinks, don't fix the problem, just hide it.

Actually, this may say that the Chinese Communist party leadership no longer has the hold they once did - "Beijing landfills are overflowing beyond capacity due to public opposition of 6 incinerator facilities that had been scheduled to open as early as 2007" - when did they start concerning themselves with public opposition? Almost starting to sound like a democracy...ironic, since the US is becoming less and less of one...
