The night after our HS graduation, my friend and I set out from central Pennsylvania to Florida with less money than I earn in one hour now. For two kids full of energy, excitement and wonder the thrill of the open road and what lies ahead far out stood the probability of starvation.
We did take a brief travel intermission in West Virginia but never failed the ability to log miles behind us. along with the generosity of travel accommodation's we were awarded meals, money and at times even tipped a bottle or two all on the graciousness of our new found, and immediately gone friends.
I will admit we also encountered a few creeps but that is why we traveled as a team which proved beneficial.
The experience always proves to be one of our most memorable, when even after 30 years we are both anxious to tell our story in an almost braggingly manner.
