PortaPocket portable travel system straps your belongings to your arm or leg

PortaPocket cases are great if you'd like to get out of the house (or your hotel) without having to carry a hand bag. Inventor Kendra Kroll designed the system as a way to carry small items like a passport, credit and ID cards. With the larger version, you can even carry sunglasses, a digital camera or medical devices like an EpiPen or insulin pump.
With a hidden pocket, you can safely store your possessions hidden under your pants or shirt without anyone noticing, which is obviously great if you want to reduce the risk of theft. The PortaPocket is designed to fit your calf, thigh, ankle, arm, or waist or belt buckle.
The pockets are made of neoprene, and come in beige and black. Best of all, the entire line of products is interchangeable - the various pockets and arm/ankle/waist straps can all be mixed and matched to create the best fit.
The PortaPocket products are available from a variety of outlets - directly from PortaPocket.com, Amazon.com and many nationwide retail stores. Prices start at just $9.95 for an add-on pocket, or $24.95 for a kit.

If they're comfortable and worn UNDER clothing, these seem great. Anything that makes the pickpocket's work more difficult is worth it. Anything that lets the traveler stow stuff safely relieves the constant need to pay attention to valuables. More anti-theft tips here: http://bobarno.com/thiefhunters/theft-thwarter-tips/

What a great product! I will be getting one soon and can't wait to put it to use. I take my son to Mall of America all the time and HATE having to put my wallet in the backpack with the snacks, juice and other stuff. PortaPocket seems like a no brainer!

Has anyone seen these in person? Does whatever pocket your using Velcro to the band, or does the band go through a loop on the pocket? If it's only a velcro attachment, I'd be afraid of it detaching without my noticing.

Hi Chris -
The pockets are either/or. There are pockets with Velcro style mounting and others with belt-loops that allow it to slide on the band. I can tell you with certainty that anything lightweight that you put in a Velcro mounted pocket and go about normal day to day business (wear it under your clothes)...you'll not lose it. I use these everyday and never had a problem...over 2 years now! Of course, if you have any concerns the belt loop style pocket is also available, but limits the ease in getting things out from under your clothing...
In the interest of transparency, this is my design and my product line, but I am not going to tell you anything that isn't factual. Believe me, I was my own guinea pig at the start..after all, it was my ID, credit card and $ at risk, too! Easiest way to ask: there are quite a few twitterers who have the products...ask around & see for yourself. Demo videos can also be found on YouTube as well as our website.
