Fly first-class on a A340, A380 or 747 for the price of coach - Airplane tip
If you want to fly in comfort on an international flight, but don't care for the frills of first-class (or don't want to pay for them), purchase four coach seats in a row. A row of 4 seats is long enough to lay across and is just as comfortable as a flat first-class bed. You also get to carry four times the luggage (while saving as much as 50% off the price of a first-class seat), and you can also order four different meals. Finally, as an added bonus, you earn four times the frequent flier miles.
The only downside is that you're still in coach class.

I've tried booking multiple seats in coach... It confuses the hell out of airlines & gate agents, you don't get multiples on your frequent flyer points, and on two of my segments they wouldn't even honor my two seat reservation.

Thanks for that comment Matt, I was skeptical about this one myself. But keep in mind, they probably just dicked you out of those extra seats because they were fully booked and wanted the fares of a few extra people.
Airliners are totally willing to fuck you out of every dollar you have in your pocket, THEN molest you on the way inside.

That is not true about the 4x FF miles and an airline will not allow you to board using four tickets or have your name on the manifest four times, if you claim you are fat you can buy one more seat but you can not check extra bags or get more FF miles

Wow that entire blurb is completely made up. There is not a single shred of truth in there. I know this is only a blog but it wasn't necessary to post all lies. This blog just lost my credibility.
