If they fly transatlantic flights to smaller regional airports, how will people clear customs?

I was wondering that exact same thing. Smaller regional airports, like the ones used by RyanAir in the UK and Europe, don't have CBP facilities to process international travelers. I imagine the same is true at outlying airports on the other side of the Atlantic.
There's also the issue of aircraft. RyanAir's fleet is made up exclusively of 737-800s; if memory serves, the 738 doesn't have the fuel range to make a transatlantic run. Unless they added some 757s or 777s to their fleet, all RyanAir flights would have to make a fuel stop, which adds to the overall cost of the flight.
