Gary, Indiana to honor the late King of Pop with a theme park
It is hard to write about Gary, Indiana without insulting them. I'll admit that most of my experiences with Gary have involved little more than driving through the city on my way to Michigan, but from what I've seen when speeding down I90 has never really been interesting enough to stop and learn more about what they have to offer.Work on the theme park is scheduled to begin this year - and will include a rollercoaster (called Thriller), a Ferris wheel, a zoo, a museum and even classic carnival rides moved from the pop singers famous Neverland Ranch.
Now, before you load up the family truckster for a trip to Gary, you'll be disappointed to know that constructing the theme park will be a ten year project, and will start with a museum and an art center. Out of respect for Gary, I've added a photo of the Neverland Ranch - you'd be surprised to know that there are no cheerful photos of Gary on the Internet.

Unfortunately the only bright spot to Gary is leaving. It still has one the highest murder per capita rates in the country. Mayor Rudy Clay is taking a beating in the local press over the "theme park".

OMG why didn't I think of it....spend millions of dollars building an amusement park in the former murder capital of America......talk about a failed project before it even gets started....i wonder who will cut the yellow ribbon for this one.....whose brain or should i say brainless child is this?

OMG!!! I'm sorry for all the haters but this is just super exciting to me. I can't wait!! Gosh, 10 years. Gives me time to get my college classes out of the way and to save some money for the travel.

I think a theme park perhaps recreating Neverland Ranch that we can all visit is very exciting. To start with a museum and a performing arts center in memory of MJ is brilliant. I'm already there. It can only help the "murder capitol of the world". Come on guys, a perfect uplift for the city!

The whole idea here is to get federal money pumped in after the project is started, then steal it blind. That has been the M.O. for Gary over the last 4 decades. The downtown and low income housing is rebuilt every 10-15 years in return for overwhelming Democrat turnout, even by those who are dead or have moved away. It is old Chicago politics at it's best.
Unfortunately, this corrupt system is the only thing that works in Gary, which is one reason Jackson came back once in 20 years or so.

Been to Gary many times, why YES it IS the armpit of the United States, all I can say is WHY? is it now pedophile, indiana-- what goes through some peoples heads I will never know? is this a tribute, or a shameful reminder-- dirtiest place I've ever been in my life-- have traveled to 43 of the 50 states.. It makes me sick to my stomach that people make JOKES about someone being a child molester. I KNOW that Michael Jackson is NOT a child molester, but for people to joke about such a serious matter just shows what kind of people they are. It is a serious crime that affects many children and should never be joked or laughed about.
The people who DO think Michael is a pedophile obviously have no mind of their own. They are sheep who listen to the media and can't think for themselves. They need television to show them how to live and how to think and it's really sad that someone can judge a person they've never met. Your minds are too small to comprehend that someone can actually have strong love for something and for it not to be sexual. Michael loves children because of their innocence. He wasn't able to be a kid for that long and because of his money, he was asked for things his whole entire life. Kids don't ask him for anything because all kids want to do be loved and to have fun. Michael didn't want any child to have to suffer and devoted his life to helping children. He helped children get the organs they needed in order to survive. And what are you doing? You're sitting in front of the computer putting someone down and for those of you who make jokes about him, probably have never helped another soul in your life.
As for the amusement park, I think it is a great idea but if it's as bad as a place as others have described, I would be a little scared to go there. Hopefully it will bring in a lot of tourists and help the city grow.

Can't wait to take my kids to the Carousel ride that has michael's black molesting thumb stick'n up on the saddles. Plus my son will get to see how a "black trash" man can grab his crotch 100 times during a two minute song. Lets face it...he killed himself out of guilt. He was as sick as his father. I hope the freak who though of it falls off the ferris wheel.

I feel soooo bad! Michael only grabbed his crotch so often because of a spasm he has, it's related to the disease that made him want to be white. He wasn't able to be a kid for long because of his money! How tragic! To all of you kids that live in poverty and have to work to help you parents keep food on the table, how dare you! You could have been rich and really suffered like Michael did! Then of course how could anyone think he molested a little boy after all little doys do lie don't they. And it is normal for a guy almost 50yrs old to sleep in the same bed as a little boy that he doesn't really know and isn't related to. But as long as he gave him Jesus juice in the day and told him stories with milk and cookies makes for such a sweet story that it must be okay. Everybody knows all parents do whats best for their kids, don't they? They don't molest, murder or hurt their kids, do they? So since we all know that kids lie, parents are always wonderful, milk and cookies make it all okay and since Michael Jackson can dance and grab his crotch, he couldn't have molested little boys just because he showed them porn, gave them alcohol and slept in the same bed as they did. Right??????

I don't understand why people feel it necessary to make fun of a tragic and painful moment in someone's life. For God's sake we all know the man was innocent. Why do you guys keep bringing up the same "little boy" situation over and over again. It is beginning to become so tiring. Citizens of the U.S. pay taxes that go to the court system. I'm sure you guys are paying for justice to be served. How would any of you guys like it if you were accused of committing such a horrible crime when you were only trying to help? The boy was DYING from cancer, but his money greedy family decided to take advantage of Michael. Sometimes this thing just comes to a point where its disgusting. Building a theme park in Michael Jackson's honor is a great idea. Maybe it can help reduce the murder rates in Gary, Indiana. For once, can some of you guys stop being ignorant and appreciate true talent when you see it?

Maybe they'll have the "Leave Me Alone" ride like that music video. In the restrooms, the toilets will be sculptures of Michael Jackson so that way when anyone (including kids) use them, they will feel like they're sitting on his lap. LOL!!

I think its an awsome idea. Lets call it Pedophile park with the king of all pedopliles Michael ( I diddle with little boys) Jackson. Yeah great idea. This is the sick part of the world we live in today. I can not wait for them to open up a theme park for pedophile priests. Yeah lets bring the kiddies out to that. Any parent that would bring their child to a park like that is just as sick as Jackson was.
