Marriott's excellent in various price ranges. I have never left one and felt I didn't get my money's worth. I personally don't care for the darker woods and decor of Residence. Marriott has some issues in the lower end Fairfield Inns, but the SpringHill Suites are to die for! Separate living room w/fold out queen sleeper sofa & LG flat screen TV. Separate toilet w/Japanese style sink, plus separate dressing vanity/sink w/ large Glass-enclosed shower. Both bath areas w/pocket-style sliding doors. Ample desk area w/ WI-FI & cables plus sliding glass doors which can open to bedroom. Big welcoming lobby, tons of seating, great bar, wonderful hot breakfast included in room rate. Stayed at the Waukegan IL SpringHill for 3 days & nights mid-December. Staff bent over backwards for us. Loved it, loved it, loved it! Beware the contemporary decor---just a little "cold" in winter.
