Roti is one of the national dishes in Malaysia and the Indian-Muslim community in Malaysia is said to have invented the original plain "roti canai" (said to be a corruption of roti chennai) and all the subsequent other roti variants, including this banana roti. Walk into any "mamak" or Indian-Muslim restaurant in Malaysia and ask the waiter what kind of rotis they serve....be prepared to be bowled over by the sheer variety of offerings. Yum...
