Photo of the day (11-12-09)

Floyd Dean (fdean55) has some amazing pictures that just begged to be shared here with our Gadling readers. This beam of light shining through a cave at Antelope Canyon in Arizona really caught my eye.
It's as if someone installed a Solatube on the roof of this place. Spectacular shot, Floyd.
I'm sure this won't be the last time you see his work appear on our Photo of the Day.
Are you a Flickr user who'd like to share a travel related picture or two for our consideration? Submit it to Gadling's Flickr group right now! We just might use it for our Photo of the Day!

I would love to get the opportunity to photograph something like this. Truly stunning, it makes me want to travel even more!

Very apropos. People stopped living in caves thousands of years ago and yet some homes are built like caves. Well, as mentioned Solatube has the solution. Its time people stopped living in the dark ;)
Cheers!
John
PS Beautiful shot by the way

Wow. I used to live in Arizona and I loved all the different hikes you could do, from canyoneering to mountaineering to trekking across the desert. I've heard Arizona has every ecozone in the world except tropical rainforest. There's even tundra atop the San Francisco peaks near Flagstaff!
