As an anthropologist, I find traveling in the south of Belize in the Toledo district the most interesting and enjoyable. You can stay in Maya villages, spend time with Maya families, and learn about Maya culture, and even in the Punta Gorda, the intimate nature of the small town allows you the opportunity to explore the great diversity that exists there. Additionally, you can explore mountains, jungles, caves, rivers, and the Caribbean in a peaceful, relaxing, and 'off-the-beaten-track' environment.
