Brenda's "entry": I'm an outdoorsy type and like to go off the beaten path. Spending a night or two at the Macal River Camp sounds really nice. I can hike, horseback ride, and relax by the river, and be inspired by my natural surroundings.
Look for a follow-up post and announcement on Gadling late next week!

I don't get the change to do as much diving as I like, but when I can, I won't miss it. If in Belize, I would certainly not want to miss the opportunity dive at the Blue Hole. Diving gives me a sense of peace I can't get doing anything else, and the Blue Hole just looks like a tremendously mysterious and beautiful place to dive.

We will be traveling for 6 months around all of Central America starting in January 2009. Originally, we had planned on skipping Belize and starting in Guatemala but due to cheaper airfare have decided to add Belize to the start of our trip. After reading your post about Belize yesterday, we are absolutely planning on spending at least a few days in San Ignacio and I am really looking forward to spending a day at Rio on Pools for some swimming, sunning and relaxing.
I'd love a copy of this book to help us choose some other wonderful Belize destinations.

I'm planning on a central america trip and hadn't really entertained Belize, until your post. I am a big water girl, and would definitely want to do a great blue hole trip. It looks gorgeous!

As an anthropologist, I find traveling in the south of Belize in the Toledo district the most interesting and enjoyable. You can stay in Maya villages, spend time with Maya families, and learn about Maya culture, and even in the Punta Gorda, the intimate nature of the small town allows you the opportunity to explore the great diversity that exists there. Additionally, you can explore mountains, jungles, caves, rivers, and the Caribbean in a peaceful, relaxing, and 'off-the-beaten-track' environment.

I live on Ambergris Caye. Moon Belize would be a useful up to date guide so I could travel to Mainland Belize more and blog about it on tacogirl.

I'd love to dive in the Blue Hole!

Snorkeling at Mexico Rocks. Off the beaten path, beautiful and never crowded. It's like your own private garden of coral heads and sea life.

As newlyweds crushed under a mountain of student loan debts, we were thrilled to see the review of Moon Belize. We want our honeymoon to be there and are saving up. Definitely top of my list are the ruins and back country hiking.

I'd love to go manatee watching! These are some of my favorite creatures & I've seen them in captivity but thats never really quite the same as seeing something in the wild.

1. The Lazy Lizard Bar, The split on Caye Caulker. Swimming, chillin', drinking rum and hanging out with old friends and making new ones - doesn't get much better.
2. Trivia night at the Sports Bar, Caye Caulker. Fun time with fun people - helps the children's soccer league, a worthy cause.

go to the ruins and explore the reefs and islands and everything to do in between

Tabacco Caye is the greatest five acre spot and is located right on the reef. Getting there is half the fun as you have to wait to catch a boat from a decomposing dock in Dangriga. $35 a night includes 3 fabulous meals a day and the greatest snorkling around!

I'm starting a SCUBA program soon and I want to do my certification dive in Belize!
