GPS and PMS
Even worse, have you ever yourself gotten PMS when trying to follow rotten GPS directions?
Let's face it: sometimes we're better off just getting lost than coping with the stupid GPS system. Tell us your failed GPS stories in the comment field below.

What is this GPS day on Gadling?

In September I went on a road trip with my motorcycle to explore the mountain roads in the vicinity of eastern TN. Many times I suspected that Jill, the Garmin GPS voice, was trying to off me.
The best time was on the heading south on the Blue Ridge Parkway past Little Switzerland. It was getting late and becoming clear that I was going to run out of daylight before finishing my planned route for that day, so I told Jill to take me back to the hotel in Johnson City. After about 75 minutes going down NC-80 -- switchback city -- to US-70 and then up NC-226, I was back at the Blue Ridge Parkway! That extra-scenic u-turn ensured that the rest of my journey across the Pisgah and Cherokee National Forests on NC-226 was in the dark. During the day that is a wonderful stretch of twisty road but at night, with a little rain, fog, and the occasional deer, it was seriously scary.
