New resort in Croatia to feature rotating hotel

A new resort that is set to begin construction on Solta Island in Croatia, will bring a luxurious, modern flair to the region, including a hotel that will rotate, ensuring that every visitor gets a great view. According to this story from World Architecture News, the three story tall building will be 61 meters in diameter, and will rotate 1.3 times per day.

The new hotel is just one part of the overall development, which will include a new marina with slips for 170 boats, a yacht club, and a sea side village. Private bungalows will also be created on the resort grounds, and a number of swimming pools will be built as well. The hotel will actually sit on an infinity edged swimming lake that will drop off into a luxury spa situated below.

The design plan for the new hotel features four interconnected bedrooms on each floor that are accessed via an elevator in the center of the building. Guests will enter the building in a ground level reception area that remains stationary and provides access to their rooms above.

And what can they expect in the way of views from their constantly changing vantage point? They'll have amazing views of the Adriatic Sea while facing out onto the water, but inland they'll see beautiful rolling terrain, hills lined with olive trees, and even the remains of a centuries old Roman settlement.

As of now, there is no word on when the resort will open, nor what it'll cost to stay there.
