Frustrated passenger beats up airline "employee" - breaks its screen
So, instead of yelling at it, like any normal frustrated passenger would do, he beat the poor thing up.
His anger caused $15,000 in damage to the kiosk, and in addition to being taken into custody and being charged with a felony, both the airport terminal authority and Delta Airlines have barred him from any contact with them.
So, let this be a lesson to anyone that thinks the check-in kiosk does not have feelings that can be hurt - that may very well be true, but beating it up will still land you in the slammer.

The kiosks are worse now that Delta and NWA combined. They mostly won't recognize my Delta card at all now and the NWA is hit and miss.

Completely understand his frustration. The kiosks work, maybe half the time. Delta is horrible, has been for a very long time. At one time, they weren't all that awful. That was a very long time ago.

Your software does not allow me to respond to indivial comments.
This is a response to the first two comments that were forwarded to me.
Fiirst comment: As far as Delta is concerned, their sevice at Schiphol stank. Sure, the Delta desk was unstaffed after my flight for JFK had left. But Delta had not even bothered to post an emergency phone number ion its desk in its check-in area. North-West did not accept my Delta ticket. North-West took me back to Boston. It is stupid that airlines do not have a mutual agreement to cover situations like this! Complaining to Delta did not do me any good because, apparently, complaints are handled by women in India or Pakistan who have been told to ignore all complains.
Second comment: Yes, I have learned my lesson. Next time I go to Europe, I will fly to Frankfort/Main and rent a car there. It appears to me that the Dutch border control officers are worse than the (former) German Gestapo. Sure, Hitler's Gestapo has been renamed but I do not know its current name/acronym.
Four or five years ago the Dutch border control did not allow me to board my flight unless I paid an old traffic ticket. This was blackmail.
