China closes Tibet once again

"starting with a crackdown in March of 2008, following a series of riots, that left the country shut off to the rest of the world for months." - are you referring to Tibet as a country? Because regardless of foreign contention calling for Tibetan independence, it surely is not a currently a country. That said, if you meant "country" to refer to China, it was not shut off to the rest of the world in 2008...so... a bit misleading no?
