I think you AND the lady missed the point. It seems to me that you do in fact love the time share idea or you wouldn't keep "renting" their product as she was trying to force upon you.
the hunt that you seek is even more appealing when you can snag that great timeshare exchange and not get a bill at the end of the visit. The fact that you work for an airline makes me jealous. You just solved the biggest limit on timeshares - getting there. so you own your resort and you never stay there again. i can't tell you how many people do that.
Here you were in the most heavily demanded location in the world, Hawaii. Everyone would be begging to trade with you. If you want to be able to not be locked into one property what better property could you have bought? Why would you ever think you were locked in.
One day, I think you will come around. I own timeshares. we love them. I own a vacation home in Hawaii. I love it to. talk about being locked in. when you own a home, it owns you. we love our house, but we feel the need to go there and fix things and get some use out of it. since we bought it, it seriously reduced the amount of exploring we have done. If it wasn't for my timeshare, we would not have traveled the world.
to bad for both of you. by the way, i have a friend in the business and you are way off on the commissions.
