W Hotel's "Extreme Wow Suite" of the future

Every W Hotel in the world has an Extreme Wow Suite; a modern interpretation of the conventional Presidential Suite. Well, currently in Sao Paulo, Brazil, they are exhibiting a fresh design -- "THE 'EXTREME WOW SUITE' OF THE FUTURE" at the "Le Paris De Patrick Jouin" Exhibition (at Instituto Tomie Ohtake through September 27).
The suite was designed by Jouin Manku and will be traveling to Europe and Asia as a showcase of the innovative possible future of hotel opulence.
"W decided to pair with Patrick Jouin to showcase what both believe to be the Extreme Wow Suite of the future. Jouin created a full sensory experience with elements of extreme customization. He believes that hotels in the future will offer more culturally-satisfying experiences, rather than serving as bastions of American culture on foreign soil," says a rep from their PR company.
As you can see, everything from chairs to tables and beds to walls have been reimagined for the project, which was created with Paris in mind. It certainly doesn't look American, but does it look French to you? I'm not convinced -- but I certainly wouldn't mind staying there for a night or two, or three, or forever.
For those who haven't seen the Extreme Wow Suites of today, here are some photos of a personal favorite at The W Scottsdale. You literally do walk in and say "Wow."

WOW - What a cold, and uninviting atmosphere !! I would'nt stay there if you gave it to me for free...the best thing about it is the view and the bathroom's not bad, but it has no warmth or cozy feeling. If I'm paying for a room, it better be more than just bad decorating and
uncomfortable looking furniture..!!!

as the headline said "room of the future". i suggest you get a life and stop staying at motel 6. I liked the room of the future. i'd pay to stay there at any price.

I would stay there if it was free. But then again I am a broke American.

This room looks dull, dead, uninviting and has no character. I would not enjoy sleeping there. The room needs more color!

Well Said!!

Actually, this room does have an "Americanized" look: an American Greyhound bus station restroom look, to be exact!

When you read something about the most expensive, or most glamorous new ... (anything) these days, you know there is very little chance that it is in the United States. Thirty years ago the opposite was true. Just another little sign of where America is headed to at rocket speed.

I'm LOL! They call that an "extreme luxury" room?
It looks more like an "isolation room" in a mental hospital with a couple of toadstools stuck in next to the "slab" bed to add a little contrast to an otherwise TOTALLY drab room.

I would not want to pay Motel 8 rates for this wierd looking place. Just give me good, A/C, clean bedding, flat screen TV, and good room service.

Looks like a hospital room to me. I wouldn't stay there if it was free !

FINALLY ... A ROOM FOR THOSE OF US WHO DON'T HAVE CLUTTERED MINDS.

This style looks a lot better filled with plants. Then it becomes a canvas instead of an abyss. What I imagine is they can probably push a button and the whole place is steam cleaned and sanitized. Save on housekeeping. Good thing because the only people who will stay there are very stoned execs, STD's, and hookers. Install projectors and feed in Euro tech music and create the private Rave atmosphere. Interior Design and Fabrication is my thing and this is just fine but a small market. Each to his own. That's what makes life interesting.

They call them W hotels because the W stands for waste.Waste of space,Waste of money,Waste materials,Waste of energy,Waste of common sense if you stay in one of these rooms.Looks like a operating room, cold and foreboding.

So, the future is from the 1970's? LAME!!!

If the bed and chairs are comfortable and the lighting is easy to read by, I like the "room of the future." When I arrived with my luggage and books, it would be much warmer and more personal.
The Scottsdale suite, however, seems over decorated and uncomfortable to me. I particularly do not care for the mixture of fussy crystal and smooth classic vases; and I find the mix of oriental, modern, and provincal furniture and art very jarring. I like them all, just not in ONE room.
