"Passenger created" toilet clogs delay flight for 10 hours
Remember those signs in the airplane bathroom that politely request that passengers refrain from throwing anything into the bowl (other than the usual stuff)? Well, apparently passengers on Biman Bangladesh airlines saw it, but either ignored it, or decided to see what would happen if you stuff it full of bottles, cups, paper and sanitary napkins. And they didn't do this to just one of the toilets, but all five of them.
The major clog in this airplane plumbing resulted in a 10 hour delay in taking off from Dhaka. The plane was London bound, and the plumbing job only took 2 hours, but by then they would have arrived at London past its nighttime curfew.
Wing Commander Asaduzzaman, who is in charge of engineering at the airline, blamed retuning Bangladeshis for clogging his toilets.
This crappy problem (pardon the pun) is just another blow for the airline, since the United Nations recently advised their own staff to avoid flying them because of safety concerns.

This sounds like a bunch of crap to me. I wonder if Al Bundy was on board.

LMMFAO!!! I had the same thought! :-P

They should make this person pay each person on the plane a minimum of 200 bucks for the delay....pay for overnight accomodations....pay for the cost of maint.....pay the cost for time lost on an aircraft sitting on the tarmac, food, drinks, etc....

isn't it against the law to interfer with the flight of an air craft? they should all be arrested and have to pay every penny of the problem they created. what a bunch of animals.

This is what happens when you have TURD WORLD passengers...

Now that is one of the funniest things that I have ever see on these sites. GREAT THINKING!!!!
dodah001 Sep 1st 2009 4:32PM
Maybe the Bangladeshi that stopped up the toilet did so because the plane was a cleaner environment than the one he was returning to! I like Joe Papps comment... Turd World Inhabitants

Even if a person in India is fortunate enough to find a sliver of soap, sanitary water can be impossible for many.
Cynthia J. Sep 1st 2009 5:01PM
What a bunch of filthy PIGS. My brother had to go to India on a business trip and he told me that it smelled so awful there he felt like throwing up. Poor people, but soap doesn't cost that much--no excuse to be so disgustingly dirty.

When the average monthly wage is $2.36 as reported by the U.N. and that means 50% earn less than that then yes soap is a luxury that most can not afford. Not to mention food and clean water

Why were the toilets unlocked before take off? I would have thought that they were locked by the flight attendants and could only be accessed in an emergency, they the attendant would have know something was going on. Seems like a protest through interruption of service. Those peopel should be arrested.

Stupid bastards.
Babs Sep 1st 2009 5:45PM
Have these people ever even SEEN a flush toilet before? Maybe the sucking noise and flowing water was all new to some of them. Oh and ,just like magic, it eats bottles and cups!!!!Weeeeee!

ok dingbats..this ia a thrid world country, second, the regulations YOU mention are US rules, not international for EVERY country and THIRD...these people did that for the fun of it since they have no country it is all under water almost al lthe time....third world airlines = DO NOT TRAVEL
BTW..lavs are NOT locked beforetake off..never seen that in over 30 yrs of travel domestic and international. The flight attendents TRY t ostop you since the plane is supposedly not alowwed to move if everyone is not in their seat.
stay wit h major carriers, and sta yaway fr om thrid world carriers espcailly..imagine the food ? their people are starving and the yare serving food onboard SCARY

Let me first say that this is not uncommon on US carriers. I work for a major airline and have seen first hand what your US educated (or so they say) fellow flying public will flush down the toliets. Can anyone explain to me why someone would flush a blanket down the toliet??? The same kind of stupidity goes on here. We see dirty diapers being flushed down the toliets and causing the same delays. Diapers laying on the floor, people trying to change babies on the tray tables and seats that you use/and eat off of and then try to hand the dirty diaper to us while we are on the cart trying to serve you your food/beverage... and look at us like we have three heads when we tell them that they can't... Oh, the stories I could tell you.... so, how do you take your coffee??

Probably some irate and hostile passengers with no respect at all. That's what I think.
The airline should have arrested those who caused the l0 hour delay and make them pay
the airline back for the immediate plumbing costs. Maybe some jail time could apply,
but what does Bangladesh federal law say about such interference with aircraft prior to
a flight?

I have a friend that works for a Saudi airline and he says this is all true. Many folks from bagladesh do not have modern toilet facilities. They have no idea what to do when they enter the airplane lav. They defecate on the floor, the toilet lid, and in the sink. So the toilet has to be the trash.
