Map of the world

Photo of the day 8.31.09

You know, you can keep your Google Maps and your Mapquest.coms -- one of my favourite things to do when I'm on holiday in a new city is to unfold a crisp, brand-spanking-new street map, and pour over it: noting the places of interest, seeing how far they are from my hotel, and marking the locations of don't-miss spots.

Sort of like the subject of arex's photo here, actually. Thanks for sharing this in our Flickr pool!

If you've got some great travel shots you'd love to share, be sure to upload them to the Gadling pool on Flickr. We might just pick one as our Photo of the Day.
