Good post, good avice. Yes, I labor and yes, this holiday is a welcome time for me to take a breather and relax. I planned on using my time this year to do nothing and stay at home since I don't have any vacation time to add on to the long weekend. Then my wife decided to go to Florida and visit her sister, so my long weekend is being spent quietly with just myself and my two Bullmastifs.
With my wife gone, it's very, very quiet around here, and as much as I love my wife, the peace and quiet is, to me, the best way to end the summer, chill out from the previous work week, and gear up for the next. And before you know it, the holiday season will be here, offering more days off.
You need those days off just to deal with the stress and pressure of those holidays!
