Photo of the Day (8.7.09)

Flickr user styggiti brings us this gorgeous shot of the Holei Sea Arch, located in Volcanoes National Park (that sounds fun) in Hawaii. This 90-foot-tall natural arch was created by the unique, powerful force of waves crashing against lava rock.

We'd be foolish to expect such a delicate looking structure like this to last forever, but, to borrow a line from W. Somerset Maugham, we'd be even more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it.
