American Airlines flight attendant accused of racist remark
Dudu Nobre, a Brazilian singer, has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines. He, his wife and producer are looking for $4 million in damages, claiming that flight attendants used racial slurs when talking to him and that they stabbed his producer with a sharp pen. So, the next time you're wondering what could make the long flight from Sao Paulo to New York worse, in a world where amenities and seat space are declining seemingly daily, Nobre is equipped to let you know.
One flight attendant is said to have called Nobre a monkey repeatedly in Portuguese during the flight – pushing it further by making monkey-like sounds. Apparently, these sounds are the closest thing to comment, as American Airlines is remaining tight-lipped.

ALEXIS come on now >>>>>> .....WHITE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MASTER MANIPULATERS FOR YEARS .. What did you say about hate the game ? Have you ever considered that the masterminds who put Obama into office had another adjenda? Could it be that the masterminds knew that YOU would vote for him because of his color? The games refered to like the waitress, the airline situation, or anything that AL or JESSES could possibly come up it, is childs play compaired to the Master's plan. Are you familiar with running a horse out front and then a sleeper horse comes from behind. >>> I know of so many people that have blinders on, their focus is so narrow, that the bigger picture escapes them. Our country has been headed down a lawless path since the age of the hippies. Their children are clean shaven, bathe daily and wear suits and conduct their parents idealology in political offices across the nation.. I pray daily for our nation and the world as a whole. I especailly pray for the next administration in hopes for a real change.

another situation where someone wants something for nothing. Was the skin broken by the pen? what a joke....these idiots should be required to pay for the legal fees for the airline.....maybe these frivilous lawsuits would stop if those filing them had to pay
Kane Aug 5th 2009 10:35PM
Ok Craig, this singer payed to fly American Airlines, after paying, he gets constantly made fun of, and stabbed with a pen. Now, I know $4 million is alot, I agree with you there, but If I was treated that way after sliding $1000 +, I would take legal action, ass hole stewards like that are the reason AA has to pay these fines.
etirpsha Aug 5th 2009 11:01PM
Why must prejudiced and racist people such as KANE and SS make their ignorance so public. One hears only one side of an issue and decides that it is the airline's fault, and the other decides to make it a racist diatribe.
Ah, yet more examples of the failure of American parents and American education.

I fly on international flights regularly. Every time theres trouble its because of some jerk passenger wanting special treatment.

You are a racist and it shows. You are a pig.
mike Aug 5th 2009 9:19PM
duh in the amendment freedom of speech throw the usless law suit out judge
Tom Byrne Aug 6th 2009 7:46AM
Four million? I'll sit through a few insults for that. In fact I'll
take more than a few. Everyone is so thin skinned these
days. Sue over anything or make it up. Why would a
stewardess do that? Maybe she gets part of the take.

I work in education at the university level, and having racist remarks, religious slurs and other verbal insults thrown in my face by my supervisor, co-workers, and university students occurs on a regular basis. At the end of the day, I go home happy because I choose to. It took me half a century to realize that being angry at others solves nothing and makes me less of a human being. I am who I choose to be, and speaking for myself, I have to allow others to be who they are.
Why be ignorant Aug 5th 2009 8:34PM
Until you walked in someone else's shoes you should keep quiet! Your card will never be pulled because you were probably born with a silver spoon.. I do not think any of you or your ancestors had to deal with slavery or any type of daily prejudices... Oh but wait I am sure you can definitely relate to the other end of it.. How nice!
webtser Aug 5th 2009 10:30PM
Wake up and listen to yourself! "Do not judge until you have walked in other persons shoes" Every culture, race and generation has had their crosses to bear. You are not alone in the world of oppression-especially in the current times with so many activists keeping civil rights in order. The world is not perfect, it takes time for everyone to get the picture that we all bleed red. Quit blaming and start helping.
Jim Aug 5th 2009 10:32PM
Your screenname says it all...why ARE you so ignorant?
JG Aug 5th 2009 11:37PM
For the love of God - can we please drop the slavery issue? Enough time has passed, enough legislation passed, and enough opportunities have been given to facilitate equality. Stop using slavery as an excuse for not moving forward. And just for the record, those of us who have grandparents who came over during the post Civil War migration from southern Europe learned first hand from their stories, the prejudice they encountered and the leaps they had to make to make a life for themselves in this country. They became a part of the fabric of American society by taking the opportunities given and working hard, instilling a strong sense of citizenship and a respect for the doors that would be opened by pursuing a sound education and all the while, learning a new culture, and language.
Unbelievable Aug 5th 2009 11:38PM
I work in healthcare and being called names, being spit on and physically harrassed is part of our daily routine and a majority of the people responsible for these horriffic actions are in this country " to live the dream"...and guess what most people I work with don't make enough money to purhcase plane tickets for a family of 4 or 5 at a $1000 a piece. So yeah this guy is a loser and so are the people who choose to represent him in his quest for "something for nothing." So many people claim to come to the US for the American dream when what they really want is "something for nothing." If your living styles and culture styles are so important to you, then stay in your own damn country.
my2cents Aug 6th 2009 12:15AM
OMG not another one! Another person who just loves to play that race card. It's sickening! Want to talk race? If OJ Simpson was white he'd be on death row. Seems to me people like you are the reason we have racisim in this country.

GET REAL
Always amazed..... Aug 6th 2009 1:04AM
Clearly your screen name here has some Freudian implications. Almost EVERY white person of European origins in the United States is a descendent of serfs:
Serf:(noun)
1. a person in a condition of servitude, required to render services to a lord, commonly attached to the lord's land and transferred with it from one owner to another.
2. a slave.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For some reason however, the white race does not let itself be bound by its chains of serfdom in the past. In fact successful people of all races are the people who can move beyond the past and focus on the present and the future. I would venture that who cant get beyond the past are doomed to live in it daily.
PCmustdie Aug 6th 2009 2:19AM
We all come from slavery, which was a worldwide historical situation. The word slave comes from "Slav" when it was their turn. In Russia they were called serfs-everyone's ancestry has many slaves in the ol' family tree. It wasn't just black people, it was everyone. Africans, American Indians, Greeks, Romans, Jews, Arabs, Asians-everybody is guilty and everyone was a victim. It was practiced on every continent-except Antarctica. Unless penguins have a dirty little secret.
Gary Aug 6th 2009 6:25AM
I'm sure you spent many days living as a slave being the reason you say this is so hard on you. You must be ignorant to make that statement. Also, since you are so ignorant, I'm sure you are not aware that even Africans in the mother land had their own slaves and they are the ones that traded the slaves to the Portugese (not Americans) for their spirits. I live and work in Africa and the guys out digging the sand in the rivers find these spirit bottles all the time. I have a collection of them as they are a symbol of what took place many years ago right here in Africa. If you want to blame anyone for slavery, blame those in your Mother Land that traded the people from their own tribes for bottles of spirit.
