I thought that this article was useful. I am a big fan of the relatively recent trend towards more environmentally conscious travelling. Having said that, travellers need to be aware of just how 'green' the operators are. I stumbled accross this site ( http://www.beouthere.com ) and they seem to offer a kind of eco-rating which examines, based on user-reviews, exactly how green these companies are...an interesting concept I think!
