Gadlinks for Monday 7.27.09

A glorious Monday here in California! I hope you are all enjoying the last month of summer. Live it up -- and maybe browse some of these travel reads while you're at it.
- My boyfriend is a huge fan of conveyer belt sushi. In Japan they call it "kaiten sushi," but in Hawaii they call it "Genki" -- Genki Sushi, to be exact, which is a kaiten sushi chain on the islands. "Genki" means happy, and customers leave "Genki's" very 'genki' after chowing down plate after plate of spicy tuna nigiri. Here's a great visual homage to Japan's innovative and convenient kaiten sushi. [via World Hum]
- On Friday, I mentioned Keen's great voluntouring contest in South Africa. Here, you will find a cool profile on International Expeditions, a voluntouring company that will organize a volunteer vacation for you nearly anywhere in the world. [via Intelligent Travel]
- Our friends over at Jaunted contemplate the possible need for another airport near New York City. Can planes land in Central Park, perhaps?
- I love traveling ultra-light, and I love GoLite gear. Tree Hugger reports that 50% of GoLite's spring 2010 line will be made from environmentally preferred materials. Light AND green? If the price tag is reasonable, I'm sold!
