Justin Timberlake opens eco-friendly golf course
Justin Timberlake - singer, dancer, actor, restaurateur, golfer, and. . . eco-innovator? That's right, the guy who "brought sexy back" is also responsible for the first Platinum LEED certified golf course in the United States. The course also received the first Audubon International Classic Sanctuary certification in the U.S.
The Memphis, Tennessee golf course, originally called Woodstock Woods, was set to be auctioned off and turned into a development when JT and partners decided to save it. Timberlake, who learned to golf on the course, invested $16 million into features like irrigation systems that use rainwater to keep the grounds lush and electric golf carts powered by the sun.
The course has been renamed Mirimichi Golf Course and opened on July 25.

Justin im a 48 year old single dad of four girls and nine nieces . The older daughters and nieces had me take them to see you guys at the gardenstate art center . We squeezed our way to the front of the stage and I was squirted by you with a water gun, my girls to this day tell this story at family parties. Your pictures still hang in the girls rooms. I was so impressed with you that we went to five more concerts. Im glad to see that you stayed real and continued to be a positve role model for our youth, adults and the Earth.. best of health to you and thanks
Keep it Green,
Steve

Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame, Ca 94010 got their certification way before Mirimichi Golf Course in 1997.
I'm not sure why Crystal Springs is not listed on the Audubon site, but are certified.

There are two different certifications that golf courses can earn. Crystal Springs appears to be an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Mirimichi is an Audubon Classic Sanctuary, a special designation for existing properties that were renovated.

WOW !!!
16 million for a golf course? Imagine how many meals that could have bought for under privledged children and their families?
What a douche bag............

If Obama can spend Trillions for Health care, you'll get alot more for the 16 Mil. Great investment.

I think it is wonderful that Mr. Timberlake takes such an interest in our environment that he is willing to invest in a golf course going green. We have a golf course in our neighborhood called Timberlake Country Club, in Chapin, SC that is so beautiful, yet the bank refuses to loan us money to build a new club house which we badly need. Would Mr. Timberlake care to loan us the money to add this building to a club with his name on it?

I live in Memphis and I seen Justin on the news, yes it is a good thing he has done. But why did he have to explain what eco-friendly is.It was like because he move to Calif. he thinks he is smarter than us.ANd why is it when he is on MTV or another music station on Tv he talks getto but when he was on the news in Memphis he spoke proper.Be real not fake
