Italy has been ripping off tourists for the last 2500 years.
It comes from the leaders in Italy being notorious thieves for the last 2500 years that the common man has no example for goodness.
It was Italians who sold the children of the Children's Crusade in the middle ages into slavery in Libya.
Bribes and gifts are a national tradition.
All sport events are crooked.
Their wine is frequently adulterated with poison.
Their olive oil? Who knows?
Elections, ha.
Every facet of life in Italy has been corrupted
Fiats? Mussolini? Berlesconi? Banco Ambrosia? Nero? Popes?Capone? Gambino? Saputo?Borgia?
And the last time I was robbed on the street in Italy, the police captain smiles and shrugged saying, " Sengnori... it's Italy"
