Of top cities in the world, Pittsburgh is best US city at 29th, Vancouver the best
We didn't realize that the US was such a terrible place to live until the Sydney Morning Herald reported it this morning. According to the Economist's 2009 liveability survey, Pittsburgh is the most liveable city in the United States of America, ranked 29th in the world.At the top of the list? Vancouver, Vienna, Melbourne,Toronto and Perth, giving Canada and Australia two of the top five cities in the world each. Dakar (Senegal,) Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and Kathmandu (Nepal) were at the bottom of the 131 polled cities.
"Liveability" was ranked using a number of factors including stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.

I'm sure there are many cities that could be rated exceptional, but Pittsburgh is special. The people are extremely friendly, the housing market can't be beat, the medical facilities are top notch, and the universities are the best bar none. I wouldn't have wanted to raise my children anywhere else. Pittsburgh deserves this honor.

I was born n lived in Pittsburgh for most of my young life but now lived in Houston,Tx, Im glad to hear my city is at the top of tha list! Its has tha most loved n well what can i say hated team in football!! We see u haters... Schools, medical, low housing prices are among tha best in tha U.S. So im very happy to see that but there sum things they also need to work on up there!!! Public transportation suck n never improved, Tha racial makeup is not a harmony one either.. Blacks n whites just stay in their area, tha only time they get together is football,work, n schools... tha weather is a killer also. That why i went down south to Tx! My city had sum falls but now trying to pick up again.. I do miss goin to sum places there that i grew up on like so so many who left to find better jobs n etc!! I got Pgh tattoo on my arm so i will ever be connected to tha Burgh!!!
