Good tips Jamie. Public transport means you can just sit back and relax, but hiring a car can be another low cost way of travelling within a destination. That way you get more flexibility, and it's generally pretty stress free.
Most of the problems some people come across when they hire a car (hidden costs etc) can be avoided if they understand all the terms and conditions.
