Nubrella hands-free umbrella lets you stay dry - won't prevent you from looking like a dork

The umbrella is such a simple device, but it has several flaws that make it less usable in today's Facebooking Twitter society - I mean, how on earth are you to keep your friends updated with the news of your latest bowel movement, if you have to use one hand to keep the rain from messing up your hair?

Enter the Nubrella. This hands-free dome shaped umbrella straps to your shoulders, and looks more like an oversized motorcycle helmet than an umbrella. It weighs just 2.6lbs and comes with a handy shoulder carrying strap.

The product costs $49.99 and is available directly from the web site of the designer, or from Hammacher Schlemmer (coming to their Fathers day catalogue).
