I stayed in a hotel recently where they tagged everything in the minibar with RFID tags. We had brought some restaurant leftovers back to the room and took some sodas out of the minibar temporarily while rearranging the fridge to make room for our leftovers. When we checked out, we were hit with about $50 in minibar charges because the fridge had detected that we took things out of it! The hotel reversed the charges, but it was still annoying to have to take time to contest the charges when checking out.
