I born and raised in Arkansas and attended UCA in Conway. It's a typical college town. If you go there looking for vacation interests, I'm afraid you will be disappointed. Pickles Gap is a tourist trap that will take all of 30 minutes to visit. You'll find the usual homemade fudge and arts and crafts junk.
Toad Suck is popular because it is located over the county line and that is where folks from Conway go to drink "adult beverages" because Faulkner county is a dry county. (Toad Suck got its name from town folks that remarked that the ferry boat captains used to "suck on whiskey bottles until they swole up like toads!")Dry county means you can't buy beer or liquor at the store or get it at a restaurant. The only places that serve booze are private clubs like the VFW or Knights of Columbus. So, you have to be Catholic or a veteran to get your buzz on legally in Conway.
Arkansas is a truly beautiful state and if you like to hike, fish or just enjoy the outdoors, it can't be beat. There is good, southern cooking all over the place and the locals are friendly.
