While Eagle Creek's b-pack looks great it's not for the inveterate hop-skip-and-jump indie traveler. Besides, at $200 that money could be better spent on food. I carry a smallish, sturdy but not heavy plastic shopping bag with snap-shut handles to which I clip a shoulder strap. In it I throw one pair waterproof, lightweight pants-to-shorts, two pairs of socks; battery operated toothbrush w/extra batteries & travel-size paste; one t-shirt and one long-sleeved shirt. Passport is concealed in waistband pocket and cam I keep secreted in pants/shorts side pocket. Everything else I buy as needed at thrift stores/bazaars/marche/or from peddlers. Less is more is the only way to go!
