Clothing not optional at this German hotel
Guests arriving at Hotel Rosengarten better be prepared for their stay, this is not the kind of hotel where you show up at the very last minute, not knowing what to expect. The hotel in the German Black Forest has a strict "no clothing allowed" policy, and guests are expected to be naked in all common areas.
Of course, nudity is still pretty much a taboo in the United States (unless it is on DVD's made here and sent abroad), but the Germans are so comfortable with nudity, that 2 villages in the vicinity of the hotel are working on legislation that will permit naked hikers to use some of the paths in the area as "nudity approved" routes.
The hotel does have a couple of rules guests will have to adhere to - sex is not allowed in any of the common areas, and photography is only allowed if those being photographed grant permission.
Check the gallery below for some folks who should NEVER go to a clothing-optional resort.

I used to go to a nude beach. It was quiet (no children) and restful. The biggest annoyance was the groups of young men who would sometimes come through (clothed) to snap pictures of the women who were sunbathing nude. Two young women sunbathing nude near me jumped up one day, wrestled a guy's camera out of his hands, and threw it into the ocean. Good for them!

They smell bad as it it....probably unbearable if they took their clothes off.

This would only be cool if the naked guys looked like ohhh I don't know, The Rock! Other than that, put on a shirt and hide those beer guts mannn! lol
As for naked kids in saunas..inappropriate to have naked kids walking around naked adults.

I'm glad Im not going there. I dont want to look at peoples flabby rears, warts, skin issues and a host of other very gross items. That is the reality of nudity and it's not all all it's cracked up to be, no pun intended.

That is totally common and I got not problems. The best and most beautiful nude folks you can find in Spain. That is even normal. Wonderful slim beautiful folks with their children or single. All women look like top models without the fat bellies of USA women or men. A fat person in Spain is what we call "NORMAL" in the USA. That is how fat we are as a nation.
And NOT EVEN ONCE did I seed any erection in the male side. ONly the USA has got this sickness where NUDITY is a sin. We are so yrs behind a nation like Spain and the rest of Europe. Spanish Lakers player Pau Gasol probably laugh his heart out.

THINK OF HOW EASY IT WOULD BE TO PACK FOR THE TRIP!

Peter Taylor: well said. The human form is a beautiful thing if taken good care of. Here, where laziness and greed are overwhelming the rest of us with thier excuses, I see why it would seem unacceptable in the eyes of most citizens. If I was a 300lbs hunker, I wouldn't want to see comfortably nude people lying around basking in the sun, enjoying a nice day either! If that's how you feel, go sit in the icecream parlor and tan through the windows. Nudity is not a sin, it's not a secret, it is beautiful, it is human and it should be appreciated as well as respected! (Even by the body's owner!)

Having worked at Naked City in Roselawn, Ind., I know there has to be a rule requiring guests to use towels or some other form of cloth when sitting on a chair in any common area, especially a restaurant. My sole question would be do they allow footwear of any kind in the hotel?

I DONT UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM....EVERYONE HAS A PART OF THEIR BODY THEY ARE NOT HAPPY WITH INCLUDING BREAST AND PENIS SIZE....SO WHAT....ERECTIONS DO NOT HAPPEN AS YOU MAY THINK....AFTER 10 MINUTES YOUR JUST ANOTHER PERSON ENJOYING BEING CLOTHES FREE AND IT IS WONDERFUL....OLD YOUNG PRETTY AND HUNG ITS ALL BEAUTIFUL....

Wow, more power to you!
Once visited a "hippee hollow" lake in Austin TX and the nudies running around were SO scary! There were some firm fit younglings but the rest were ancient or outta shape. Many apologies, but revealing your cottage cheese butt and thighs, sagging bosoms, beer guts, vericose veins, hanging WAY down dangly bits with gray public hair, etc. is just WRONG. Do us all a favor and cover that UP. WHY would a person expose themselves like that? I guess we should think "Ah, his/her glory days are gone! God bless 'em!" Instead it's "Oh! I feel queasy!! And I'm blind! I can SEE!"

Talk Endstück GROSS! If there is anything worse than FAT UGLY Americans it is FAT UGLY Germans. Their dysfunctional control of nude beaches is retarded. Police controlled nudity! Graphic! Even though there are hot chicks it is ruined by two FAT homos in the other eye.
