TSA detains man for carrying cash
What was he detained for? Carrying $4,700 in cash.
If you watch this video, you'll hear about 2 minutes of back-and-forth between TSA personnel and Bierfeldt in a windowless detention room in the St. Louis airport. The TSA wants to know what Bierfeldt does for a living and why he's carrying that kind of cash. All Bierfeldt asks in reply is whether he's legally required to answer those questions. The audio leaves off with personnel telling Bierfeldt that he's being taken downtown to a regional Drug Enforcement Agency office for further questioning.
Fox New's Freedom Watch, of course, jumps on this like Oprah on a buffet line, flashing a picture of the 25-year-old Bierfeldt and asking, "Is this the face of a terrorist?"
Why was he carrying $4,700? Turns out Bierfeldt was working for an organization called Campaign for Liberty and was returning from a local fundraiser carrying the proceeds from book sales, ticket sales and other merchandise.
Missouri is one of the only states in which law enforcement maintains that the Campaign for Liberty is a terrorist militia group.

having read the comment from "Don" Yes I agree with everthing your saying...you have put it into context in a very good way.
we can however DO something to help take back our country, the more I look at things I am thinking this is no longer a Bush thing, or an Obama thing, its all of them doing this stuff on both sides, which we need to stand up against!
the thing we all can do to help out is attend one of the fast growing meetings that are taking place all over the country...the "tea parties" which are not an organized event by any political affiliation, doesn't matter if your a Dem. or Rep. or Ind. just search the net for a local party being organized in your area. the numbers are staggering from what I have heard??
Oh, no!! maybe I should not have mentioned the tea party deal on the net? next thing I know a swat team may be coming through my front door to check into why I am talking about attending meetings?? I may have to answer questions such as this guy was submitted to..."where did I get the money to pay for this large home?" "how bout the furniture, jay" oh, by the way, can you open up that safe over there and let us see whats in there?" "whats that, no??" "get the hell out" ...........
we really need to take back OUR country and OUR constitution, we the people own this country and we the people OWN the Constitution and the BILL OF RIGHTS!!!!
this is a precious gift that was passed down to us for safe keeping, for us to treasure and use to better ourselves? not to allow some crook politician, or some gum shoe private dick to trample all over and soil?
Take it back!!!

It most definitely is an Obama thing...You guys critisized Bush at every turn and said he took away our rights? WTF rights of yours did he actually take? Obama is actually taking away rights and installing a Police State with the Big Brother Government taking over everything and us all losing our jobs like in Venezuela with his pal Chavez and you guys and the MEDIA look the other way because most inthe MEDIA wil stay in POWER as long as they are a card carrying Liberal member of the Politburo. The rest of us can kiss our freedoms goodbye or get a stamp on our foreheads and serve their master.

The cops are totally out of line here. He has a perfect right to ask the authorities about the legal need to respond. He received less consideration in this interview than a gitmo detainee. Last time I checked, cash is legal tender in the US. Carrying it is therefore legal. He was totally within his rights to ask his questions. You libs would be screaming if he was a Muslim from Iraq.

The real terrorist are trying to make the patriots look like terrorist. The real terorist are in our political offices, and police department around the country, and they are the New World Order Police State, ruled and dictated to by the ADL terrorist, and other international criminals.
Craigushka Apr 4th 2009 4:25AM
Actually it says legal tender, but it is illegal as hell according to the US Constitution. The Federal Reserve is illegal, and the criminals behind it should be in prison. We know who it is behind it, and when the people bring in the new revolution those criminals will be tried for treason along with their criminal enforcers, and sent to prisons they are building for the patriots. Their little scheme is about up, and it's going to be hell to pay when 10 million armed patriots let loose.

Nobody has ever blown up a plane with cash. You have never seen a news report saying : "Terrorists threaten to place large amounts of cash on US airlines unless their demands are met..." When I travel I tend to carry cash because it is easier to get things done that way. What if you need something and the place doesn't have a machine to accept your debit card? We have a RIGHT to carry our own money in whatever amount we want. The guy had a right to carry whatever amount of cash he wanted to carry. If I carry $5000 cash in my pocket then that's my damn business. I'm a conservative and have been for a long time, so save your neo-con comments, and I believe that this guy was well within his right. He asked if he was legally obligated to answer, which any citizen (I said citizen, not illegal immigrant) is allowed to ask, and in return for him exercising his civil rights he was treated like a criminal. Some of us carry large sums of cash and guess what, we aren't criminals. Had they tried that same thing with me my attorney would have beaten all the incoming flights to that place. Legal US Citizens have RIGHTS. That means you can't take it from us. Illegal immigrants don't. Illegal is the opportune word there. This guy should get a medal for standing up for the rights of all of us. We need more people like him standing up for his legal rights and less illegal immigrants bitching about the rights they think they should get for free without paying taxes or going through legal immigration processes. Maybe the illegals should stand up, that way we can easily identify and deport them. So, let the hate speech directed at me by the supporters of the illegals begin.

Craigushka, are you insane? Exactly what "revolution" are you referring to here? There's a lot of flaws in our system, we all know that, and there always will be. The best we can do is try and make it a little better each time. You and 4 guys in a Chevy is not a "revolution," it's just you and 4 guys in a Chevy. This is a country built by the people, and if anybody is to blame for the way things are it's the people. The government will only do what we allow them to do. When enough people finally get together and say "We have had enough.," then we will see a change. Talking about some whacked out "revolution" where we are going to put all these people on trial and create some new, perfect society is some kind of Hollywood nonsense. You have seen too many movies. What's next, you're going to tell us that we need to get out there and destroy the computer industry before Skynet comes online and the terminators start wiping us out? Maybe we will all suddenly form armed gangs and start fighting over a tanker full of sand while a lone ex-policeman fends off the other gangs? Better still, because of the government, a virus will turn all of us into vampires that will only be able to be cured by a compound in your blood that you will figure out as they invade and destroy your basement laboratory! That has to be it! Is that your "glorious people's revolution?" I'm in with Jay, we need to take democratic action to take our country back from the illegals and others that have used our labor to further their own aims. Your idea, on the other hand, is way too Bolshevik, in a twisted, psychotic kinda way.

This seems very suspicious he just happened to have some way to record all this. The guy acted like a jerk none of the questions being asked were unreasonable. If he had answered he would of been sent on his way.
jack Apr 4th 2009 5:40AM
The bible tells us how to deal in times like this . It says there is a time to kill and any douchbag who doesn't think there can be a revolution in this country OVERNITE is a naive dope with no understanding of history.
These retards in uniform who couldn't get hired at Burger King, have NO buisness telling ANYONE what the f--k to do. They are just remnents from a president every bit as stupid as they are,are a complete waste of of taxpayer money and will soon be eliminated by our new president. Otherwise, along with the crooked pieces of shit in gov't. and buisness, they WILL be eliminated by the people.
America is SICK of this shit!

Last time I checked $4700 was chump change. Might be enough to buy a used motorcycle. The law? The law says you need declare when you are transporting over $10,0000 INTO or OUT of the USA. You are not required to answer any questions at anytime, it’s called the 5th Amendment. Boooo hooooo $4700, I spent more on my girlfriends wristwatch. "That much money… "Freakin’ buffoons. These idiots have not ever Mirandized this guy at any point either. I would not have told them anything, this is still America and we still have Rights, right?? $47K is a large amount of money, $4700 is peanuts. Not going to let him fly he looked suspicious? Hell, he could go apeshit at the airport bar or buy some overpriced crap on the concourse, what else could he do with that money start a fire?
Jas Apr 4th 2009 5:55AM
Out goes the intellectual discussion about American civil liberties, in comes the wannabe wealthy talking about how great they wish they were and how much they wish they had. Hard to say what's more unbelievable, you spending more than $4700 on a watch or that you actually have a girlfriend. Let me guess, a supermodel you met online but haven't gotten to have a formal meeting with yet because she's always jetting off to another photo shoot. Somebody that was actually wealthy wouldn't try and front like that, so if you're going to pretend at least learn a little about the world first and make it entertaining for us.

I was a law enforcement officer for over 30 years. I freuqently carry that much or more cash with me when I travel and intend to be gone from home for more than a few weeks. So WhatZ? The applicable law says you cannot take out or bring in more than 10,000.00 without declaring it. This is a violation of the mans CIVIL RIGHTS and he should contat the FBI for an INVESTIGATION and a dammed good lawyer for a law suit. The TSA is thee to detect weapons that make a flight a risk not to screw with people over their cash.

Did Timothy McVeigh look like a terroritst?
steve326m Apr 11th 2009 10:24PM
What does Tim McVeigh have to do with someone carrying cash well below the required reporting amount?
