Footprint lacking an export function is indeed a big miss. Export to KML would be great!

But you can use GPS tagging in the camera function also. Press the camera icon, choose 'next' and press "GPS Photo". Not as nice as 'footprint' of course.

That feature was sadly not enabled on the unit I tested, I've used it on other HTC phones in the past, but this one did not offer it :(
