Accommodations for the ultimate oenophile: sleep in a wine cask

Via BoingBoing: I've always loved a good wine, and my husband is a true wine aficionado. So I have to admit, I'm sort of intrigued by the Hotel De Vrouwe van Stavoren, in the Netherlands: the rooms are made from repurposed wine casks. These original Swiss wine casks, converted to proper hotel rooms, come with "a small sitting room, television, radio, shower and bathroom." And the best part? The prices are relatively reasonable, ranging from between US$ 40-150/night, depending on the time of year you book, and the length of your stay.

The next time my husband and I are contemplating a trip to the Netherlands, we'll definitely check this out. My only hesitation:

is it possible that the rooms might smell like a wooden pub after closing?

I'm just sayin'.
