Scotland is the one destination I could never sum up in words. From the light filtering in the old monastery windows to the colorful boats traveling through the canals from loch to loch. The grey of water under the ferry to the grey of the highland walls broken by the grey of a concrete ribbon floor. From the pub owner in Inverness who chose to speak slowly enough to let us keep up with the conversation to the young woman of oriental descent with the best Scottish brogue who served us Pizza, to the 80+ year old man who ran the long course at the Royal games who inspired us "rowdy" Americans to do the wave as he finished. It is a country and a people that weaves itself into my occasional dream and makes this tea-toter dream of a dram of malt.
